Weekend and overnight holding
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
Holding permission across programmes
You may carry positions overnight and over the weekend in evaluation phases and on simulated funded accounts. This applies to Standard, Pro, multi-step evaluations, Instant and Pay After Pass. There is no separate weekend auto-close rule in the published programme policy.
Permission to hold is different from permission to ignore risk limits. An open trade contributes to equity, so floating losses remain relevant even though the position has not been closed. A recovery later does not undo an earlier breach.
The daily reset still happens
At midnight UTC, the higher of balance or equity sets the next day's daily-loss baseline. An open gain can therefore raise that baseline. Giving back the gain after the reset uses some of the new day's allowance even if the balance eventually returns to where it started.
For a hypothetical $100,000 2-Step Standard account with $102,000 equity at the reset, the 5% daily allowance is $5,100. The day's line is $96,900. It is not simply the day-one line calculated from $100,000.
مثال فقط — وليس توقعًا.
Maximum loss and news are separate
A static maximum-loss floor stays fixed. A trailing floor retains the highest level it has reached and does not fall when the balance falls. Check which type your current stage uses before carrying a position.
On simulated funded accounts, gains from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact release may be removed. A position opened on an earlier day is not automatically outside this rule if its closing time falls within the window.
Before carrying a position
- Check the remaining room above both the daily and maximum-loss lines.
- Consider how open profit at the reset changes the following day's baseline.
- Review the account's minimum hold and any relevant high-impact release times.
- Use the current platform's instrument information when planning around market closures.
Market gaps and changing liquidity can affect open positions. Stop-loss orders are recommended, but holding permission is not a promise that any chosen exit price will be achieved. Ask support if the account displays a weekend restriction that conflicts with its published rules.
