News trading on simulated funded accounts

Updated October 2026 · 2 min read

Where the news window applies

News trading is allowed on every programme. The gain-removal qualification applies to the simulated funded stage, including Instant from its first trade and Pay After Pass after the evaluation. Do not transfer an evaluation-stage assumption to a simulated funded account.

Both the opening and closing time matter: an otherwise longer-held position can still fall within the qualification if it is closed inside the 5-minute window. The rule says gains may be removed; it does not promise that every result from news trading will remain eligible for a reward.

A timing example

A hypothetical high-impact release at 12:00
  1. The stated window extends 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after the release.
  2. An opening or closing time inside that window needs to be considered under the simulated funded news rule, even if the other end of the trade is outside it.
  3. A trade outside the stated window must still satisfy the rest of the account rules. Being outside this window alone is not a reward approval.

Example only — not a forecast. Check release and trade timestamps in a consistent time zone. A local device clock and a platform timestamp may be presented differently; verify their meaning before comparing them.

Loss and hold rules continue

The minimum hold is 3 minutes on the evaluation programmes and Pay After Pass, and 30 seconds on Instant. Satisfying that duration does not remove the news-window qualification.

Daily and maximum loss limits continue to apply during fast markets, with floating P&L included in equity. The Equity Protector on simulated funded accounts is a separate safeguard, not an increase to the permitted loss. A scheduled event does not suspend these checks.

Reviewing a news-related adjustment

If you are unsure about a gain adjustment, send support the account ID, trade IDs, opening and closing timestamps, and the high-impact release you believe is relevant. Ask which account-rule provision applies. Keep this separate from a general question about whether news trading is allowed.

The rule concerns eligible simulated performance. Do not calculate a reward from an unreviewed headline balance while ignoring a news-related adjustment shown for that account. The dashboard is where the eligible request amount is displayed.
